Donna L. Pires, R.D.O.
Donna is Advanced Eye Centers (AEC), Inc Optical Shop General Manager and is a Registered Dispensing Optician, licensed in the State of Massachusetts. Donna is American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certified, is a member of the National Academy of Opticianry, and is a trainer for the apprentice opticians. She has over 20 years of experience in the optical field and has been with AEC since 2004. Donna’s hobbies include walking, reading, and Sudoku puzzles.
Sherry Bettencourt, R.D.O.
Sherry joined Advanced Eye Centers, Inc in May of 2009. She came to AEC with over 10 years of optical experience in lensometry, fitting, adjusting and repairing eyeglasses. Sherry strives for exceptional quality care to patients. Sherry has a Massachusetts state opticians license, is a certified optician and has a dispensing apprentice certificate. Sherry enjoys going to the movies, attending concerts, and spending time with family.
Laurie Cardoza
Laurie is Advanced Eye Centers, Inc Optical Shop’s newest member, having joined us in the spring of 2009. Laurie has experience working in a service industry having worked at a local retail department store for 14 years. Laurie is enjoying her switch to a career in the Optical Shop. She enjoys traveling, gardening, and dining out.
Rose Catabia, R.D.O.
Rose has over 23 years in the optical field and was recruited by Advanced Eye Centers, Inc in 2004. She began her career in the field in 1986 to 1991 as a receptionist at a local ophthalmology practice. She was trained during her early years on various tasks such as contact lenses, optometric testing, frame repair and adjustment. From 1991-2004, Rose was employed by a large optometric / optical shop chain where started on the optician apprenticeship program. She also trained in Holliston with Blair Wong, who serves on the American Board of Optianry. Rose became licensed and certified in 1995 and is a member of the Opticians Association of Massachusetts. Rose has received certificates from the Opticians Association of America on low vision screening and low vision courses. Rose completed a course at Bristol Community College in 2003 in the Ophthalmic Assistant’s Program. Rose joined AEC in 2004. She states that she is excited to be working with a growing company that strives on patient care and satisfaction, education, and training with product updates in new technology. Rose enjoys camping, boating, archery, and cooking.
Joselynn Cruz
Joselynn has over 9 years of experience having worked at another local Vision Center prior to joining Advanced Eye Centers , Inc in 2004. In addition to being trained with Blair Wong, who serves on the American Board of Opticianry, Joselynn gained most of her knowledge in the optical profession through on-the-job training, attending seminars, and reading books about opticianry. Joselynn enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her son and family, attending sporting events, shopping, reading, and water sports.
Robbin Dias
Robbin joined Advanced Eye Centers, Inc Optical Shop in Dartmouth when it opened in 2004. She has over 18 years of experience in the optical profession having worked for 13 years as an Optical Laboratory Technician, specializing in different lenses and frames. Robbin enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She also enjoys drag racing and decorating.
Nicole Gomes
Nicole began her career as a Frame Inventory Specialist and then became an Optical Laboratory Technician before joining Advanced Eye Centers, Inc Optical Shop in 2004. She has over 14 years of experience in the optical profession. Nicole’s hobbies include walking, reading books, shopping. She is happy spending time with her 3 children and boyfriend.
Cathy Larson, R.D.O.
Cathy was licensed and certified as an Optician in 1987. She is licensed in the State of Massachusetts as a registered Optician. She is also a member of the National Academy of Opticianry. Before joining Advanced Eye Centers, Inc in 1984, Cathy worked at a large optical / optometric chain as manager at their Dartmouth, Brockton, and Pembroke locations. Cathy’s hobbies include walking, horseback riding, reading, and watching her children play high school sports.
Ana Oliveira
Ana began her career in 1999 working part-time after school at a local Vision Center as a receptionist and frame stylist. In 2001, Ana decided that being an Optician was a profession she desired and joined the apprenticeship program. Ana continued working at that local Vision Center before joining Advanced Eye Centers, Inc Optical Shop in 2007. Ana’s goal is to become a licensed optician. She has stated that working at AEC has been a pleasurable experience and she is proud to be part of a growing company. Ana enjoys spending time with her son and husband going for walks, playing in the yard, seeing and doing new things with her little guy. She also enjoys reading a good book.
Bryon Walker
Bryon began his Optical career in 1994 in Phoenix, AZ. In 1997, Bryon moved to the local area and began working at another local optical shop. He also worked as a low vision specialist on Cape Cod for a period of time before joining Advanced Eye Centers, Inc in January of 2004. Bryon’s hobbies include painting icons, long walks, bicycling, roller coasters, his hot-tub, and spending Sundays with his in-laws.
