Billing Q&A

Q: How much do you charge for a routine eye exam and a contact lens exam?
A: If you have insurance it’s whatever your co-pay is but if you have no insurance then its $75 dollars for new patients and $50 dollars for existing patients.

Q: Do I have eyeglasses coverage through my insurance?
A: Some insurances do cover eyeglasses, you can either call your insurance company or our Optical Shop at (508)717-0270 (ask to be transferred to Optical) to find out.

Q: What is the MRFF and why do I need to sign it?
A: The Medicare Refraction Fee Form (MRFF) is a statement that says Medicare does not cover the cost of refraction and you will be liable to pay the fee. You need to sign it before your refraction so that we know you’ll be paying the fee.

Q: Why do I need to show my insurance card all of the time?
A: Just like everything else in life, insurance plans change, so we look at your insurance card every time to make sure the copy we have on your record is correct.
